Kelly joins House Agriculture Committee

Rep. Trent Kelly, R-Miss., has joined the House Agriculture Committee, Chairman Michael Conaway, R-Texas, announced Friday.
Kelly, who represents the first congressional district in Mississippi, will serve on the Livestock and Foreign Agriculture Subcommittee and the Commodity Exchanges, Energy and Credit Subcommittee. He takes the seat of Rep. Tom Emmer, R-Minn., who left the committee to take a seat on the House Financial Services Committee.
Kelly elected June 2 and sworn in on June 9 to fill the two-year term of Rep. Alan Nunnelee, R-Miss., who died in February.
He is a 49-year-old military veteran and lawyer who was a district attorney.
