Inspector General recommends changes to SNAP error rate calculation

The Agriculture Department’s Office of Inspector General today released a report recommending changes to the way USDA calculates the error rate for delivery of benefits under the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program, better known as SNAP or food stamps.
Officials at USDA’s Food, Nutrition and Consumer Service disagreed with some of the conclusions of the report.
