In a sign that the Obama administration hopes for quick action on its nomination of new commissioner to head the Food and Drug Administration, the White House announced today that President Barack Obama had sent to the Senate his nomination of Robert McKinnon Califf of South Carolina to be commissioner of food and drugs.
