Beard Foundation announces conference agenda

School lunch and the connections between food, science and technology will be the topics at the James Beard Foundation's sixth anual food conference in New York City October 19 to 20, the foundation announced today.
The conference is entitled "Rethinking the Future of Food."
Speakers will include Ellen Stofan, the chief scientist at NASA, historian Rachel Landau, Tim Harlan, a physician at Tulane University, and Bill Telepan, a chef with Wellness in the Schools.
There will also be a leadership awards dinner on October 19 at which former White House chef and nutrition adviser Sam Kass will be among the honorees.
