Gillibrand hosts New York Farm Day

Sen. Kirsten Gillibrand, D-N.Y., on Wednesday hosted her annual New York Farm Day to showcase New York food and farms.

Gillibrand took over the event when she succeeded Sen. Hillary Clinton, D-N.Y., who started it.

Gillibrand noted she is the first New York senator to serve on the Senate Agriculture Committee in nearly 40 years, and claimed partial credit for the inclusion of crop insurance for fruits and vegetables in the 2014 farm bill.
