The Agriculture Department’s Center for Nutrition Policy and Promotion will ask for comments on how to communicate with consumers about the dietary guidelines, according to a document scheduled to be published Tuesday in the Federal Register.

New York University nutrition science professor Marion Nestle wrote in her Food Politics blog today, “This is interesting. I don’t remember USDA asking for consumer input on nutrition education materials since the 1992 pyramid.
Let’s encourage USDA to do this.”
