Commodity Futures Trading Commission Chairman Timothy Massad late last week named Eileen Flaherty as the director of the agency’s Division of Swap Dealer and Intermediary Oversight.

Flaherty has served as the global head of compliance and financial crime prevention for Newedge in addition to being general counsel for the Americas.

Previously, she served in senior legal and compliance positions with Fimat, Aubrey G. Lanston & Co. Inc., DRW Holdings, the Chicago Mercantile Exchange and the National Futures Association.

Flaherty graduated from Lorcas College and the Chicago-Kent College of Law.
