McCarthy to discuss papal encyclical and environment at Georgetown today

Environmental Protection Agency Administrator Gina McCarthy will participate today in a discussion of the moral and policy implications of Pope Francis’ Encyclical on the Environment hosted by the Initiative on Catholic Social Thought and Public Life at Georgetown University.
“The administrator will focus on EPA’s efforts to fight climate change through the Clean Power Plan and the need to act on climate in order to protect those most vulnerable to air pollution, flooding and extreme weather,” the agency said in a media advisory.

The panel discussion will begin at 6 p.m. in the ICC Auditorium of Georgetown's Edward B. Bunn, S.J Intercultural Center on 37th St. NW in Washington.
