Corn growers plan rally at EPA hearing on RFS in Kansas

Members of the National Corn Growers Association from several states are planning to attend the Environmental Protection Agency’s hearing Thursday in Kansas City, Kan., on the agency’s proposal for the volumetric requirements under the Renewable Fuel Standard, NCBA said in a news release.
The EPA proposal would cut the requirement for corn ethanol by 3.75 billion gallons through 2016, NCGA President Chip Bowling said.
The EPA hearing starts at 9 a.m. CDT Thursday at the Jack Reardon Center, 520 Minnesota Avenue.
It will be followed by what organizers are calling a “Rally for Rural America” at 11:30 a.m. in Huron Park one block southwest of the hearing location.
