The Agriculture Department today released a set of state-by-state fact sheets that it says show that the Trans-Pacific Partnership agreement would create opportunities that would help boost agricultural exports across all 50 states.
USDA emphasized that the agreement would create new opportunities for soybeans, poultry, beef and fresh fruits and fresh and processed vegetables.
Also today, in support of granting President Barack Obama trade promotion authority, the White House released data on the level of exports achieved in each state last year.
The White House said in a news release that exports supported an estimated 11.3 million U.S. jobs in 2013, up 1.6 million over 2009.
