Merrigan to succeed Hirshberg at AGree

Former Agriculture Deputy Secretary Kathleen Merrigan will succeed Gary Hirshberg, an organic farmer, as one of the co-chairs of AGree, the foundation-founded initiative on longterm agricultural issues.
Merrigan is executive director of sustainability at George Washington University. She will serve as a co-chair with Dan Glickman, a former Agriculture secretary; Jim Moseley, a former Agriculture deputy secretary; and Emmy Simmons, a former assistant administrator at the U.S. Agency for International Development, all of whom have been with AGree since 2011.
