House Ways and Means, Senate Finance set trade hearings

House Ways and Means Committee Chairman Paul Ryan, R-Wis., announced Wednesday that the committee will hold a hearing on the U.S. trade policy agenda with testimony from Trade Representative Michael Froman next Tuesday.
The hearing will take place at 2 p.m. in the Capitol Visitor Center, HVC 210.
Senate Finance Committee Chairman Orrin Hatch, R-Utah, had previously announced that Finance will hold a hearing with Froman the same day.
The Senate Finance hearing will be at 10 a.m. in Room 215 of the Dirksen Senate Office Building.
Senate Finance Committee Chairman Orrin Hatch, R-Utah, said today he hopes to introduce legislation giving President Obama trade promotion authority before the end of January, with the goal of a committee markup in late February, Washington Trade Daily reported today.
