Emily Metz Meredith

The National Milk Producers Federation has hired Emily Metz Meredith as vice president of animal care.

Meredith will have primary responsibility for the Farmers Assuring Responsible Management (FARM) program, which features a set of on-farm practices demonstrating farmers’ commitment to responsible animal care.

Meredith succeeds Betsy Flores, who left in mid-October for a position at the Agriculture Department, National Milk said in a news release.

Meredith has been vice president of communications and membership for the Animal Agriculture Alliance.

Before joining that group, Meredith was a litigation assistant in the New York attorney general’s office. She also served a speechwriter at the Agriculture Department.

A Wisconsin native, Meredith has a degree in mass communications and international affairs from The George Washington University in Washington and a law degree from Seton Hall University Law School in New York.
