The National Park Service and the National Park Foundation announced today that the 92nd annual National Christmas Tree Lighting on the White House Ellipse at President’s Park will be held Thursday, December 4 at 5 p.m.

The president and his family traditionally light the tree.

Free tickets for the lighting ceremony will be awarded through an online lottery that will open on Friday, October 17 at 10 a.m. EDT and close on Monday, October 20 at 10 a.m. EDT. (See link below.)

There are 3,000 seated tickets and 14,000 standing room tickets available through the lottery.

Entrants can check the status of their requests starting on November 3 at the ticket lottery page, and winners will be notified by email beginning that date.
