Clinton Global Initiative to discuss conservation financing

The financing of conservation efforts will be among the topics at the Clinton Global Initiative meeting this year and a number of agriculture and nutrition experts will be among the speakers, the Clinton Foundation announced today.
The 10th Clinton Global Initiative Annual Meeting will be held in New York City September 21 to 24, hosted by former President Bill Clinton, former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton, and their daughter, Clinton Foundation Vice Chair Chelsea Clinton.
The initiative’s stated purpose is to bring leaders together “from all sectors of society to create and implement solutions to the world’s most pressing challenges by turning their ideas into action.”
Participants create “Commitments to Action,” which are intended to be new, specific, measurable plans to address global challenges.
A session entitled “Confronting Climate Change is Good Economics” will explore opportunities “to assist in the financing of conservation efforts, help unlock the capital required to accelerate investments towards a low-carbon economy, and reinforce the critical role of women in adapting to climate change,” the foundation said in a news release today.
In addition to the Clintons and President Barack Obama, participants who have shown an interest in agriculture, nutrition and water include:
