Emerson joins WFP USA board

National Rural Electric Cooperative Association CEO Jo Ann Emerson has joined the board of the World Food Program USA, a private sector group that supports the World Food Program, a Rome-based United Nations agency that distributes food aid.
Emerson represented the 8th congressional district of Missouri from 1996 to 2013. While in Congress Emerson was an original co-sponsor of the McGovern-Dole International Food for Education Program and co-chair of the Congressional Hunger Center.
