AGree, the foundation-funded effort to reach consensus on the future of agricultural policy, today released its recommendations on immigration reform.
The release of the report was accompanied by an op-ed article by Jim Moseley, a former Agriculture deputy secretary who serves as co-chair of AGree, and A.G. Kawamura, a California farmer and former California secretary of food and agriculture.
The column said the United States should develop a system so employers can hire legal foreign workers, the well-being of the workers can be assured, and training provided so the foreign workers can advance within agriculture.
