House to take up CFTC reauthorization today

The House is scheduled to begin consideration late today of the Customer Protection and End User Relief Act, which will reauthorize the Commodity Futures Trading Commission, late today, House Majority Leader Eric Cantor, R-Va., announced Sunday.

The House will meet at noon for morning hour and at 2 p.m. for legislative business, but there will be no votes until 6:30 p.m.

After considering seven bills on the suspension calendar, the House is expected to turn to the CFTC bill.

The structured rule that the House passed last week calls for one hour of general debate and consideration of eight amendments, each with 10 minutes of debate.
The House is scheduled to leave Thursday for a July 4 break and return to session on July 8.
