Senate Agriculture Committee ranking member Thad Cochran, R-Miss., will seek the support of Democrats and independents in his runoff primary race against state Sen. Chris McDaniel, The New York Times reported today.
Mississippi does not have party registration, which means Democrats and independents can vote in the Republican runoff on June 24, but not if they participated in the Democratic primary, the Times said.
Meanwhile, National Journal asked in an article published today whether a tea party group illegally coordinated with McDaniel.
