Heather Vaughan
The Futures Industry Association has hired Heather Vaughan as director of public relations, a new position.

Vaughan has been the communications director for Rep. Randy Neugebauer, R-Texas, who chairs the House Financial Services Housing and Insurance Subcommittee and the House Agriculture Committee.

Earlier Vaughan served on the House Agriculture Committee staff where she managed policy communications on issues ranging from the farm bill to Dodd-Frank implementation.

She began her career in Washington as the speechwriter for Agriculture Secretary Mike Johanns.

Vaughan earned her bachelor’s in political science at Lafayette College in Easton, Pa., and a master’s degree in public policy from Georgetown University’s McCourt School of Public Policy.
