Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid, D-Nev., said Thursday that he would support letting immigration reforms take effect in 2017, but that the House needs to take up a bill by August if a conference is to be completed this year, Roll Call reported.

House Speaker John Boehner, R-Ohio, has said Republicans do not trust President Barack Obama to implement an immigration bill, but 2017 would mean it would be implemented after he leaves office.
