Senate, House State subcommittees hearings Tuesday

The Senate and House State and Foreign Operations subcommittees will hold hearings on Tuesday on President Barack Obama’s fiscal year 2015 budget request for the U.S. Agency for International Development.

USAID Administrator Rajiv Shah will be the witness at both hearings.

A Senate Appropriations Committee memo to reporters said that Shah would be questioned “about the recently revealed USAID’s creation of a Twitter account intended to manipulate Cubans into rising up against Castro.”

The Senate State, Foreign Operations and Related Programs Subcommittee will hold its hearing on Tuesday at 10:15 a.m. in Room 138 of the Dirksen Senate Office Building.

The House State and Foreign Operations Subcommittee will hold its hearing on Tuesday at 1 p.m. in Room H-140 of the Capitol.
