Peterson says no agreement yet on dairy

House Agriculture Committee ranking member Collin Peterson, D-Minn., issued a statement late today that he has not agreed to a dairy proposal in the farm bill.

Although Peterson told reporters earlier today that he believed he could accept the proposal presented to him verbally, he said in an email, “I have not agreed to anything at this point and still support the Dairy Security Act.”

“While the proposed concept at least appears to move in the right direction and may be something I could reluctantly support, without further details a lot still needs to be worked out,” Peterson said.
