House Agriculture Committee Chairman Frank Lucas, R-Okla., leader of the farm bill conference, said today that farm bill leaders need to have a draft of the bill by the end of this week if Congress is to pass it and President Barack Obama is to sign it before the end of the year.

Senate Agriculture Committee Chairman Debbie Stabenow, D-Mich., said she hopes that the leaders can release a framework on the farm bill by the end of the week or shortly thereafter.
