EWG releases map of big crop insurance subsidy recipients

The Environmental Working Group today released a map showing the locations of 26 farmers who got more than $1 million in crop insurance premium subsidies in 2011.
“Congress doesn’t allow USDA to release their names, but the agency did identify what counties their crops were in,” EWG said.
The farmers operated 1.1 million acres of cropland in 174 counties, EWG noted.
