The Agriculture Department missed four weekly export sales reports during the government shutdown this month, and will need two weeks to get caught up, Reuters reported on Friday.
A notice on the Foreign Agriculture Service website says the agency will issue an export sales report this Thursday “that summarizes sales for the week ending Oct. 3, as well as final marketing year data for soybean meal, soybean oil, sunflower seed oil, cottonseed meal and cottonseed oil.”
The report for the week ending September 26 — which USDA was working on when the shutdown began October 1 — was posted on Friday. A note on top says the report issued October 31 “will include all sales reported from October 4-24, 2013.”
The report routinely is issued on Thursday of each week and covers sales through Thursday of the preceding week.
