President Barack Obama has again mentioned the farm bill as a priority.
In his weekly address to the nation released Saturday, Obama called for passage of a farm bill, as he did earlier in the week in a speech after Congress passed the continuing resolution to reopen and fund the government.
After listing “a balanced approach to a responsible budget” as his first priority and immigration reform as his second, Obama said, “Third, we should pass a farm bill — one that America’s farmers and ranchers can depend on, one that protects vulnerable children and adults in times of need, and one that gives rural communities opportunities to grow and the longer-term certainty they deserve.”
