Jerry Hagstrom, founder and executive editor of The Hagstrom Report and a contributing editor to National Journal, will appear on C-SPAN on Saturday at 9:15 a.m. to discuss National Journal’s special report on the House Agriculture Committee.
The special report released on Thursday includes a story on the committee’s operations, profiles of House Agriculture Committee Chairman Frank Lucas, R-Okla., and ranking member Collin Peterson, D-Minn., and articles on the main issues facing the committee.
The package discusses the frequent changes in membership in the committee and suggests that to maintain more member interest, the committee should hold more hearings on issues that interest the general public such as nutrition, food safety, fruits and vegetables, organic and local production and obesity.
