The Agriculture Department’s Office of the Inspector General has issued a report charging that USDA’s Food and Nutrition Service has not updated its controls on retailers in the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program, better known as SNAP or food stamps.
But FNS responded to OIG that the report was written while the agency was in the midst of reorganization, and that many of the suggested controls have already been implemented.
