Former President Bill Clinton, once known for his great appetites, now eats a vegan diet regularly, but still eats salmon and eggs occasionally, AARP has reported in its magazine.
“Once a week or so, he will have a helping of organic salmon or an omelet made with omega-3-fortified eggs, to maintain iron, zinc and muscle mass,” says the article by Joe Conason, a New York writer who has long reported on Clinton.
Clinton told AARP he has not had a hard time giving up a regular diet of meat, turkey chicken and fish, but has found it difficult to give up yogurt and hard cheese and craves bread, a heavily processed carbohydrate.
