The number of beneficiaries of the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program doubled in 254 counties between 2007 and 2011, and Republican Mitt Romney won 213 of those counties in the 2012 presidential election, according to a recent analysis of Agriculture Department data by Bloomberg.
