The Center for Budget and Policy Priorities on Tuesday released a detailed analysis of the potential impact of the food stamps amendment to the farm bill sponsored by Rep. Steve Southerland, R-Fla., which was adopted in the House.
The amendment would allow states to impose new work requirements on participants in the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program, better known as SNAP or food stamps. The amendment would allow states that remove participants from the program to keep half the money and use it for any purpose
