EWG reports on bacteria in supermarket meat

The Environmental Working Group today released a study charging that a round of tests by federal scientists published in February “has documented startlingly high percentages of supermarket meat containing antibiotic-resistant bacteria.”
The National Pork Producers Council accused EWG of “using selective and incomplete 2011 government data on retail meat samples to blame America’s livestock and poultry farmers for the growing problem of antibiotic-resistant illnesses in people.”
