United States asks for WTO panel on dispute with Indonesia

The United States has asked the World Trade Organization to establish a dispute settlement panel to examine Indonesia’s trade-restrictive measures applied to horticultural products, animals, and animal products, Trade Representative Ron Kirk announced today.
In accordance with the WTO Dispute Settlement Understanding, the United States requested WTO consultations with Indonesia on January 10 and consultations were held February 21-22, but the consultations did not resolve the concerns, USTR said in a news release.
