Bittleman new ag adviser at EPA

The Environmental Protection Agency announced today that the Obama administration has selected Sarah Bittleman, a senior adviser to Agriculture Secretary Tom Vilsack, as EPA’s new senior agricultural counselor.

Bittleman succeeds Larry Elworth, who left in December.

In her work for Vilsack, Bittleman specialized in energy and EPA issues. Before coming to USDA, she worked in the Interior Department and in the Senate and House.

She holds a master’s of public administration degree from East Carolina University, a law degree from Tulane University School of Law, and a bachelor of arts in political science from Union College in New York.
