Hipp joins OFW Law

Janie Hipp, a senior adviser to Agriculture Secretary Tom Vilsack on Indian matters, has joined the OFW Law firm in Washington.
She will also serve as director of the new Indigenous Food and Ag Law Initiative at the University of Arkansas Fayetteville. It will be the nation’s first law school initiative focusing on Tribal food systems, agriculture and community sustainability. Hipp is a member of the Chickasaw Nation.
Hipp was founding director of the USDA Office of Tribal Relations in the Office of the Secretary, and served two terms on the secretary’s Advisory Committee for Beginning Farmers and Ranchers.
She also served on two delegations to the United Nations in the areas of rural women’s and indigenous issues.
