Vilsack in Wisconsin for ‘personal’ campaigning

Agriculture Secretary Tom Vilsack was scheduled to spend today campaigning for President Barack Obama in Wisconsin, the Obama campaign office announced early today.

In a scheduling announcement, the campaign referred to him as “Hon. Tom Vilsack,” and also said, "Tom Vilsack will be speaking to press in his personal capacity on behalf of Obama for America. Please refrain from using his official title at the events and in related press reports, and note that we will not be taking questions concerning his official responsibilities.”

Vilsack was scheduled to participate in the launch of “Rural Leaders for Obama” in Eau Claire at 1 p.m.

He was also scheduled to promote early voting in Wausau with Wisconsin State Rep. Donna Seidel in the morning and with congressional candidate Pat Kreitlow in River Falls in the afternoon.
