Rural voters are more likely to favor the Democratic Party position on comprehensive immigration reform rather than a Republican position emphasizing secure borders and opposition to amnesty for illegal immigrants — until they find out that the reform position belongs to the Democrats, according to a poll taken by Greenburg Quinlan Rosner Research and released by Daily Yonder.
About 60 percent of respondents said immigration was only a small problem or not a serious problem in their communities, the poll showed.
