A group of House conservatives has scheduled a news conference on Wednesday at 11:30 a.m. — during the time of the farm rally — to discuss the farm bill, the continuing resolution and the lame duck agenda.
The “Conversations with Conservatives” group is chaired by Reps. Tim Huelskamp, R-Kan., Jeff Landry, R-La., and Raúl Labrador, R-Idaho.
Reps. Jim Jordan, R-Ohio, Scott Garrett, R-N.J., Steve King, R-Iowa, David Schweikert, R-Ariz., and Tom McClintock, R-Calif., are also scheduled to participate.
The event will be held in Rayburn House Office Building 2203. Food from Chik-fil-A will be served, according to a news release from Huelskamp's office. Chick-fil-A has become controversial because its CEO Dan Cathy is an opponent of gay marriage.
