WTO issues cotton report

Development assistance since 2005 for cotton producers, mainly in Africa, is approaching $400 million, World Trade Organization members heard last week.

Several WTO members at the June 29 meeting also said they were concerned about subsidies proposed in a new U.S. farm bill, the WTO reported on its website this week.
