The Senate Agriculture Committee today approved the nominations of Mark Wetjen to the Commodity Futures Trading Commission and Brian Baenig to become Agriculture assistant secretary for congressional relations, a spokesman for Senate Agriculture Committee Chairman Debbie Stabenow, D-Mich., told The Hagstrom Report.

The committee approved the nominees by voice vote in a meeting off the Senate floor, but it is unclear when the full Senate will take up the nominations, the spokesman said.
