Thompson named CFTC executive director

Commodity Futures Trading Commission Chairman Gary Gensler today announced the appointment of Tony Thompson as the agency’s executive director.
Thompson has been the deputy administrator for the office of management at the Agriculture Department’s Food Safety and Inspection Service. He will replace Madge Bolinger Gazzola, who recently retired after almost 35 years at the CFTC.
