Nelson named Farm Service Agency administrator

Agriculture Secretary Tom Vilsack today appointed Bruce Nelson as the administrator of the Farm Service Agency.
Nelson has been serving as acting FSA administrator since May and previously served as FSA state executive director in Montana.
Nelson, from Fort Benton, Mont., also served as state executive director in Montana from 1993-2000 during the Clinton administration and during that time was awarded the Administrator’s Distinguished Service Award. He has also served as the chief of staff to Montana Democratic Gov. Brian Schweitzer.
