House Ag announces subcommittee farm bill hearings

The House Agriculture Committee announced today that its subcommittees will hold two “audit” hearings on aspects of the farm bill next week and a joint hearing with a Natural Resources subcommittee.
On Thursday the Conservation, Energy and Forestry Subcommittee will hold a hearing on conservation. The same day, the Nutrition and Horticulture Subcommittee will hold a hearing on specialty crops.
On Friday, the Conservation, Energy, and Forestry Subcommittee and the Natural Resources Energy and Mineral Resources Subcommittee will hold a hearing on challenges facing domestic oil and gas development and review the Bureau of Land Management/U.S. Forest Service ban on horizontal drilling on federal lands.
