Obama to nominate Baenig to congressional relations post

President Obama Tuesday announced his intention to nominate Brian Baenig as Agriculture assistant secretary for congressional relations.
Baenig is the deputy undersecretary for marketing and regulatory programs at USDA.
From 2009 to 2011, he served as deputy staff director of the Senate Agriculture Committee. Before that, Baenig was senior policy adviser for Sen. Patrick Leahy, D-Vt., and as a Senate Judiciary Committee staff member.
Baenig also worked for several years as a legislative assistant for the late Sen. Paul Wellstone, D-Minn.
