USDA report: Conservation working in Chesapeake Bay
March 15, 2011 | 04:11 PM
The Agriculture Department's Natural Resources Conservation Service released a study today showing that conservation practices are protecting water resources in the Chesapeake Bay watershed.
The study is significant because the environmental situation in the Chesapeake Bay is a subject of political debate and action by both Congress and the Obama administration. Farm groups believe that final policy on the bay may set a model for environmental protection in other areas of the country.
