John Adank, the New Zealand ambassador to the World Trade Organization in Geneva, has been appointed chairman of the WTO committee in charge of agricultural negotiations in the Doha round, the WTO has announced.
Adank replaces David Walker, the former New Zealand ambassador, who returned to his home country in June. Adank was selected by the WTO General Council and will be officially elected at the agricultural committee meeting, but no date has been set for that meeting.
