The International Food & Agricultural Trade Policy Council today published two issue briefs on the impact of animal and plant health safety standards on trade.
The free-trade oriented IPC noted that private companies are increasingly developing food safety standards in the absence of internationally agreed upon standards. The briefs were published in preparation for a conference on non-tariff trade barriers in agricultural trade being organized by IPC and the Organization for International Cooperation and Development in Paris on September 13.
