AMS administrator Pegg to leave post next month

Agricultural Marketing Service Administrator Rayne Pegg will resign effective mid-July to return to California to pursue another opportunity and spend more time with family, the Agriculture Department Office of the White House Liaison announced Tuesday.

Pegg was appointed in July 2009. Dave Shipman, the AMS associate administrator, will serve as acting administrator until an appointment is made, according to the USDA press office.
