Reid adviser Wetjen nominated to CFTC

The White House announced today that President Barack Obama has nominated Mark P. Wetjen, a counsel and senior policy adviser to Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid, D-Nev., as a commissioner on the Commodity Futures Trading Commission.
Wetjen has worked for Reid since 2004. Previously, he was a lawyer in private practice in Nevada and California.
Wetjen earned a law degree from the University of Iowa College of Law and a bachelor of arts degree from Creighton University.
He would succeed Commissioner Michael Dunn. Dunn’s term expires in June. but he can stay until the end of the next session of Congress if the Senate does approve a successor, a CFTC source said.
